Beckhoff’s PVSEC show presentation will focus on the latest-generation TwinCat 3 software as well as on scalable drive solutions, from the Servo Drive in a 12-mm terminal block to the highly dynamic EtherCat drive. The TwinCat 3 software for PC-based control technology will offer additional functions. The use of Microsoft Visual Studio as a framework now places the C/C++ programming languages at the programmer’s disposal alongside those of the IEC 61131-3 standard. In addition, the integration of Matlab/Simulink enables use in areas such as metrology or simulation of machines and plants. Operation is feasible under harsh real-time conditions with the use of multi-core technology and the support of 32 or 64 bit operating systems. Robots can also be mapped in software and integrated seamlessly into the PC controller with the TwinCat Kinematic Transformation library. The system supports various parallel and serial kinematics.
